El Paso Emergency Medical Services
Just about two weeks ago, David Sharp who is a former coworker from El Paso Emergency Medical Services (EMS) hit me up on Facebook. That followed shortly thereafter by an invite from Janet Walker, who was the Operations Officer at the time I worked there. Then came word that a Ron Burchett, a former instructor of mine, passed away after battling cancer.
Those rapid contacts within a short period of time brought back a flood of memories of serving almost 9 years at El Paso EMS. As I sit here typing this out, I can look over the monitor and see the service plaque that I received when I resigned to take another job.
El Paso EMS will always hold a very dear place in my heart and mind for everything that I learned. I started working there in November 1989, when I was just 19 years old. To say the least, I was young and still had a lot to learn about life. If it were not for all the difficult lessons that I learned there, in addition to the wonderful supervisors and mentors that I had, I would not be where I am today.

I have enjoyed reconnecting with you and I’m glad you have such fond memories of EPEMS. It was a pleasure to have worked with you for 9 years. I just wish it could have been more. Please stay in touch!
